Biography
Dr. Berglund grew up on a farm in eastern
Washington where her family "homesteaded" in the fifties. Like most farm girls
she was active in 4-H, raising sheep and showing horses. Dr. Berglund also enjoyed playing
flute and bassoon in band. As a teenager, she was quite self-conscious about the
appearance of her teeth and was delighted to have the opportunity to have orthodontic
treatment.

The chance to have orthodontic treatment had a big impact
on her life, not only in terms of self-esteem, but also in terms of career choices. With
the encouragement of her family, Dr. Berglund completed her pre-dental curriculum at
Washington State University with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree. She attended dental school
at the University of Washington and received her DDS in 1981.
After graduation Dr. Berglund completed residency
programs in general dentistry at the Eastman Dental Center and the Genessee Hospital in
Rochester, New York before attending the orthodontic specialty training program at Oregon
Health Sciences University. Dr. Berglund completed her training as an orthodontist in 1986
and has been in practice in Edmonds since 1987, initially associating with Dr. Gerald
Dohner.
Dr. Berglund lives in Kenmore with her husband, Gary
Ulrich and their two sons, Brett and Brian. When not in the office, Dr. Berglund enjoys
camping and travel with her family, skiing, wind surfing, photography and pottery. And in
case you were curious, she always cheers for the Cougars! |
